HYDERABAD, Sept 16: A resident of Yasrab Colony Islamabad, Hyderabad has accused Phulelli police of distorting the FIR in the murder case of his father and demanded to transfer the case to Crime Branch for reinvestigation.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Tuesday, Majid Khan Abbasi son of late Juma Khan Abbasi said that his father-in-law, Rehmat Ali and brothers-in-law, Ghulam Rasool, Abid Ali, Javed, Saleem and others came to his house on August 10 and thrashed him and his father.

He said, thereafter, his father and some other relatives went to Phulelli police station and lodged the report (NC) in which the police recorded the names of only three accused and omitted of the two others.

He said his father was given a letter for hospital where he died immediately after receiving injuries. He said the matter was reported to duty officer, ASI Imam Bux who came to the hospital and met the doctor who had conducted the post-mortem examination.

Rehman Ali in connivance with police also lodged a counter report (NC) at the police station, he said adding that they themselves apprehended the accused while fleeing but police only detained Rehmat Ali, Saleem and Ghulam Rasool while letting go Javed and Abid Ali.

He alleged that the doctor was also in league with the accused and police and added that the FIR was not recorded correctly. He expressed surprise that the interim challan was not submitted under section 302 PPC, which was a miscarriage of justice.

“I and my family are being threatened of dire consequences therefore the case should be transferred to Crime Branch for reinvestigation”, he said and sought protection.

Answering questions, Majid Abbasi said that he got married to the daughter of Rehmat Ali of Mirpurkhas eight months back but after four months his in-laws took away their daughter with the demand to divorce her which he refused.
