HYDERABAD, Sept 19: People’s Party activists from Mithi, Chhachhro and Nagarparkar, district Tharparkar staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Friday against the indifferent attitude of the party leadership towards the workers.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Rasool Rahimoon, Rasool Bux Rahimoon, Mohammad Siddique Rahimoon and others said that after the defeat of PPP candidates in the general elections due to massive rigging, the party workers were totally dejected but after the PPP came into power, the sincere and committed workers of Tharparkar, except a few influential persons, had been totally ignored by the party leadership.

Corruption was at its peak and the crime rate was on the rise in Tharparkar district, they said and added that district coordinator Sharjeel Inam Memon who was elected from Nagarparkar seat, was residing in Karachi.

They lamented that whenever the district coordinator visited Tharparkar he only met a few influential people and did not care to resolve the problems of poor workers.They said that for all practical purposes, Q-League was still ruling over the district.

They said that chairmen of the Zakat and Ushr committees had not been appointed till date and the needy people were waiting for zakat money.

They said those people who had appeared in interviews for jobs were still waiting for the results. They complained that the local people were not being appointed in the Thar coal mines.

They appealed to the President, Sindh chief minister and other ministers to take notice of the excesses against the committed and sincere party workers.

He said true Muslims could conquer any superpower of the world and quoted the example of Soviet Union’s defeat in the Soviet-Afghan war.

He was speaking at a Youm-i-Badr gathering at Masjid-i-Quba Hirabad, here on Thursday night.
