SRINAGAR, Sept 23: Two soldiers were killed in a clash with militants on the Line of Control in occupied Kashmir, the Indian army said on Tuesday, accusing Pakistan of providing covering fire for the gunmen.

The clash took place on Monday and soldiers were combing the area looking for the bodies of several militants believed killed, said army spokesman S.D. Goswami. Goswami said there had been an increase recently of incidents of militants trying to cross the heavily armed line and alleged that the Pakistani army was helping them.—AP
