HYDERABAD, Sept 25: The councillors of Qasimabad union council-2 demanded on Thursday withdrawal of what they called a false case against UC nazim Mehboob Abro, which was according to them a part of mud-slinging campaign against him.

Ms Shamshad Memon, Imam Ali Ansari and a number of other councilors said at a news conference at the press club that the authorities should withdraw the case and provide him protection.

Awam Dost nazim Mehboob Abro had always raised a forceful voice for Qasimabad at all forums and had been very vocal about the development of Rani Bagh and Niaz Stadium, water supply and drainage system, construction of roads and lawlessness, they said. They said that due to his immense popularity, the extortionist and land grabber mafia had resorted to mud slinging at his integrity and the false case was part of it.—Bureau
