NEW YORK, Sept 28: President Asif Ali Zardari is expected to leave for Pakistan on Sunday night by a regular flight after a five-day visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.

According to Husain Haroon, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr Zardari’s flight was delayed for 12 hours on Saturday night after a delivery truck hit the tail of the aircraft. Mr Zardari was in his hotel at the time of the incident.

Most of the 60-odd members of his delegation left New York on Saturday for different destinations, with some opting to stay in the United States for some time before returning home.
