25 bonded labourers freed

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 30. District and sessions Judge of Umerkot Agha Ubaidullah Khan freed 25 bonded labourers, including women and children, in Umerkot on Tuesday.

One Soomro Oad had submitted an application in the court of district and sessions court Umerkot complaining that about 25 of relatives, including women and children, were in illegal confinement at a brick kiln of Mangal Oad situated at Chore road near Umerkot. He said that these bonded labour were engaged in forcible labour work and they were not allowed to move freely.

The sessions judge ordered the Umerkot police to get these bonded labourers released.

On Monday evening, police raided the brick kiln and recovered the bonded labour . They included Molan, Ponjan, Nazeeran, Chandan, Fatto, Laichand Oad, Shremti Takri, Oam, Ashok etc.

On Tuesday morning, the police produced them in the court where the judge ordered their release after recording their statements.
