ISLAMABAD, Oct 4: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought tenders from the approved contractors of the civic body for the renovation of the Parliament House.

The tenders can be submitted up to October 25 along with non-refundable Rs1000. All the tenders would be opened on the same date. The Sanitation Department of CDA would undertake the renovation work.

The renovation work includes repair of 2nd floor galleries of the Parliament House, improving the condition of washrooms located in front of the cafeteria and near the office of the deputy speaker, replacement of broken windowpanes, provision of rodent control service in the Parliament House and other renovation work.

Meanwhile, The Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced direct recruitment for 145 different vacancies in the Fire Brigade department for scales ranging from BPS-5 to BPS-18.

According to sources, the interviews would be held from October 20 to November 21 and no tests would be held for 139 permanent and 6 contract posts in the Fire Brigade department.

The vacancies to be filled include 54 firemen, 25 leading firemen, 8 fire control supervisors, 35 wireless operators and several other vacancies. Provincial and regional quota has been reserved for only four difference vacancies while Rs50,000 has been fixed for vacancies to be filled on contract basis.
