LARKANA, Oct 6: Larkana police claimed to have recovered two people kidnapped some time ago.

Qurban Ali Jatoi and Saleem Jalbani, were produced before journalists on Monday and DPO Ahmed Yar briefing them on the recovery.

Qurban Jatoi, brother of Farooq Jatoi, the nazim of Gairelo union council, was kidnapped about a fortnight ago while he was returning home.

The kidnappers initially phoned the family of hostages and demanded Rs7 million as ransom and gradually reduced to only Rs100,000 after the relatives of the kidnap victim turned down their demand, the sources said.

Meanwhile police using traditional tactics mounted pressure on the relatives of the kidnappers that had compelled them to release Qurban Jatoi without ransom money, the DPO said.

Saleem Jalbani, however, was recovered after an encounter near Bado Phatak, the DPO said.
