KARACHI, Oct 13: Most complainants approaching the complaint cell at the CM’s House recorded their grievances against the police department and its personnel when the facility formally started functioning on Monday.
“On the first day, more than 100 complaints were lodged by callers from Karachi and other parts of Sindh,” an official at the CM’s house said, adding that Sindh Minister for Information Shazia Marri and Minister for Housing Syed Ali Mardan Shah attended the calls from 9am to 1pm and from 1pm to 5pm, respectively.
The complaints were forwarded to the relevant authorities for swift and appropriate action.
On a directive of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, representatives of the public utility services — KESC, KWSB, SSGC, PTCL, as well as the police department — remained present at the cell during the period.
The second highest number of complaints pertained to the KESC, followed by the education and health departments.
Talking to newsmen, Ms Marri said that the objective of setting up the cell was to ensure provision of immediate relief to aggrieved people.—Staff Reporter
