RAWALPINDI, Oct 14: Twelve men accused of planning to assassinate former president Pervez Musharraf pleaded not guilty after they were formally indicted on Tuesday.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Sakhi Mohammad Kahot, who has been conducting the trial in Adiala Jail, charged Intikhab Abbasi, Abid Khan, Mohammad Ishaq, Mohammad Kabir, Qamaruz Zaman, Zafar Ali, Mohammad Zameer, Mohammad Touqir, Mohammad Sajjad, Abdul Sattar, Farhan Mehmood and Rashid Mehmood with terrorism, criminal conspiracy, possessing explosives, using vehicles with bogus registration and forged documents.
Earlier, the investigators submitted an amended charge-sheet with additional charges.
The court adjourned the hearing till Oct 21.
Meanwhile, hearing in the case of a suicide attack on former prime minister Shaukat Aziz was put off till Oct 21.
The court recorded statements of three prosecution witnesses and declared five others irrelevant.
Mohammad Usman and Maulvi Imtiaz are accused of helping the suicide bomber who blew himself up near the convoy of Mr Aziz in Fatehjang when he was campaigning for his election in 2006.
