ATTOCK, Oct 16: District Police Officer (DPO) Fakhar Sultan Raja has served show cause notices on SHOs and investigation officers of Attock City and Attock Khurd police stations for their unsatisfactory performance during September.
According to a press released issued here on Thursday, the DPO took the disciplinary action during a review meeting held at the District Police Headquarters.
DPO Raja also directed the Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) Attock police circle to improve the working of the two police stations.
Taking note of a large number of cases pending with the Attock City police, he instructed the SHO to expedite the investigation process and submit a report to the District Police Headquarters within a week.
The DPO issued a show cause notice to the SHO Attock Khurd after the police failed to trace the killers of a 14-year-old boy from Shakrdara village. The child was found murdered near Haji Shah village last month.
The SHO was told to apprehend the killers and submit a report within a weak.
Moreover, the DPO also observed that police failed to arrest the proclaimed offenders (POs), and directed all SHOs to arrest them this month.
However, the overall law and order situation in the Attock district was found “satisfactory”. Same was the case with the operations of the remaining 12 police stations — Hazro, Rangu, Attock Saddar, Hassanabdal City, Hassanabdal Saddar, Fatehjang, New Airport Fatehjang, Jand, Basal, Injra, Pindigheb and Bhatar.
The DPO asked all officials, particularly SHOs of Attock Khurd, Hazro, Hassanabdal Saddar, Jand and Injra police stations, to make foolproof arrangements to check wheat flour smuggling from Punjab to NWFP.
DPO Raja also warned the “inefficient and lethargic” officials of strict departmental action and advised them to change their unprofessional attitude.
APPOINTMENTS: The DPO appointed Sub Inspector (SI) Shabeer as the in charge of Jarikus police post in place of SI Musarrat Abbas, who was transferred to the Attock City police station.
Similarly, SI Tufail was appointed as in charge of Ghorghushti police post in place of SI Ahmed Khan, who had been suspended for failing to stop flour smuggling.
