After a barren first half, Navy scored their all important winner through their international midfielder Nomi Martin Gill in the 75th minute.

In the second encounter played at the PSB Ground, near Hamidi Hall, both Army and PTV pretty much evenly-matched until interval with a score of 1-1.

The soldiers were the first ones to score when their midfielder Shabbir Hussain went through PTV’s middle defence to beat their goalkeeper in the fifth minute.

The PTV put up a brave fight to level the score through their Abbottabad-born striker Fakhr-e-Alam Khan, who sent the ball into the left corner in the 40th minute to become the 100th goal-getter of the event.

But the second half saw Army putting the game out of PTV’s reach. First Sialkot-born Sharjeel Vicky changed the score to 2-1 in the 56th minute followed by Shabbir to get his second of the day in the 64th minute.
