HYDERABAD, Oct 21: District Coordination Officer Ali Ahmed has said that survey for the sixth national census will start in the district by the end of the current month.
He was speaking at a meeting regarding survey work for the census at his office here on Tuesday.
The DCO said that Hyderabad district had been divided into 2,100 blocks where working force of 2,500 government employees would be engaged to complete this important task.
He said that the deputy district officers of revenue department of each taluka had been nominated as the census district officer, while one government functionary would be made available at each block to carry out the census work.
The DDO said that teachers from education department, officers and official from local government and the revenue department would be engaged in this task.
Mr Ahmed said this was an important national task and urged the officers that it must be completed with national spirit as future planning of the nation and country would be based on this census.
He called upon the public representatives specially the nazims, naib nazims of taluka and union councils of the district to cooperate with the visiting teams and motivate the masses to participate in the incorporation of the actual data.
He also directed the officers that this task must be completed with a national spirit.
The programme coordinator of the Census Organization of Pakistan, EDO (Revenue), EDO Education, DDOs Revenue and all Mukhtiarkars of the district attended the meeting.
