Gilani arrives in Beijing

BEIJING, Oct 23: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani arrived here on Thursday evening to attend the Asia Europe Meeting Summit (Asem).

On arrival at the Beijing airport, he was received by senior officials of the Chinese foreign ministry and Pakistan’s Ambassador Masood Khan.

It is the prime minister’s second visit to China after assuming office. He had earlier attended the opening of the Beijing Olympics.

He is also scheduled to meet his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh. This will be an important informal interaction on matters of bilateral interest.—APP
