India, Pakistan discuss Kabul bombing

NEW DELHI, Oct 24: India and Pakistan discussed on Friday the July bombing of India’s embassy in Kabul that had threatened peace moves between the two countries, a foreign ministry statement said.

“Information on issues of mutual concern, including the bombing of the Indian embassy in Kabul, was exchanged during the meeting of the Joint Anti-Terrorism Mechanism set up in 2006,” the statement said.

The Pakistan delegation was led by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Additional Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry while Indian side was headed by Minister of External Affairs Special Secretary Shri Vivek Katju.

Pakistan-India ties were seriously strained after New Delhi accused Pakistan’s military intelligence agency of involvement in the bombing of its Kabul mission.—Agencies
