THATTA: Two kidnap victims freed

THATTA, Oct 26: Thatta police arrested two bandits and recovered two kidnapped men on Sunday after a brief encounter.

According to District Police Officer, DPO, Sultan Ahmed Khwaja, police also recovered two Kalashnikovs and other weapons from the possession of the bandits.

He said that the gangsters belonged to Sattar Janwari and Mumtaz Mari group who were carrying Rs1.5 million head money each and operating in Khadi, Viran, and Moolchand forests at the right bank of River Indus.

He said the outlaws had kidnapped two young farmers Aftab Zaur and Manzoor Solangi and escorted them from thick woods and were heading towards the Indus Highway near hilly terrain town of Jherruck.

However, police on a tip-off surrounded the area and after a brief encounter compelled them to surrender. Police arrested two outlaws Babu Khaskheli and Ghafoor Rind. —Correspondent
