LAHORE, Oct 26: As many as 144 cases of dengue fever have so far been reported in the city since August this year.
District Health Officer Dr Muhammad Hanif told Dawn on Sunday that the situation was not alarming because most of the patients had been cured. Most cases were reported in areas like Bund Road, Misri Shah, Shadbagh, Sanda, Islampura, Mozang Road and Chauburji, he said and added the city district government was carrying out fumigation and public education campaigns to deal with the situation.
APP adds: The Punjab Health Department has called a meeting at 11:30am on Monday (today) to discuss dengue fever.
According to a handout issued here, medical superintendents of all government hospitals of Lahore, the executive district officer for health and district officers will attend the meeting, which will be chaired by Punjab Health Services Director General Dr Muhammad Aslam.
