LARKANA, Oct 28: Sindh National Front vice-chairman Amir Bakhsh Bhutto has said that law and order situation in Larkana district is alarming and alleged that the People’s Party government has lost control over things in a short period of seven months.
Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the government could not even provide security of life, property and dignity the people, which was the foremost responsibility of a government.
Referring to the surrender of a wanted criminal, he said that the Sindh home minister felt pride in holding a press conference with a notorious criminal but neglected the plight of law-abiding people who were victim of such criminals.
He said that Ratodero had become a hub of crime but the police did not take action against criminals and were busy in extorting money from complainants.
He said that criminals had let hell loose for the people of Larkana but PPP MNA Faryal Talpur, who looked after Larkana affairs, instead of taking measures to provide prompt relief, had told the people that they would have to burn in the fire for at least three more months.
Mr Bhutto said that police officers appointed on the recommendation of PPP leaders were busy only in protocol duty and guarding the rulers and their cronies and had left the people at the mercy of criminals. As a result, he added, there was no one to listen to the complaints of victims of crime, let alone protect them.
