Sindh take lead on first day: Boxing

LAHORE, Oct 29: The opening day of the 6th National Cadet and Junior Boxing Championship at Atiq Stadium on Tuesday night saw eight bouts being decided.

Shehroz Kachi, Mohammad Raza, Ubaidullah, Mohammad Faizan, Mohsin Ali, Mohammad Amin, Ahmed Bin Babar and Mohammad Fayyaz all won their respective fights.

The three-day event features boxers from four provinces as well as the Navy, Air Force, Rangers, Police, Wapda, Railways, Pakistan Steel, PTCL and HEC. KESC, Karachi Port Trust and Army did not send their boxers.

On the opening day seven bouts were held in the cadet category while one fight was contested in junior class.

Cadet category:

46kg: Shehroz Kachi (Sindh) bt Sayed Mohammad Asif (Balochistan)

48kg: Mohammad Raza (Balochistan) bt Sunny Shehroz (Punjab); Ubaidullah (Sindh) bt Azhar Ravi (NWFP); Mohammad Fayyaz (Punjab) bt Raja Nizamullah (Sindh).

50kg: Mohammad Faizan (Punjab) bt Asif Shah (Balochistan).

52kg: Mohsin Ali (Sindh) bt Liaqat Ali (NWFP); Mohammad Amin (Balochistan) bt Sayed Faizan (Punjab).

Junior class:

60kg: Ahmed Bin Babar (Punjab) bt Irfanullah (NWFP).
