HYDERABAD: Nazim inaugurates eye ward

HYDERABAD, Nov 6: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil inaugurated on Thursday an eye unit equipped with Rs2.5 million equipment at Syed Hafiz Mubarak Ali Shah Hospital.

He said at the inauguration ceremony that the unit would be upgraded into a fully fledged eye hospital after it had been equipped with phato and laser machines.

He said that the district government had established six new hospitals in the district and upgraded existing hospitals.

The district nazim, meanwhile, attended a briefing about the Hyderabad Master Plan at his secretariat in which he said that the Hyderabad Master Plan would be posted on the district government website www.hyderabad.gov.pk at the end of December this year carrying details about future planning about the city up to 2027.

The nazim said that details about health, education, housing, land-use, community development, solid waste management, agriculture, livestock, transport, industries, water supply, sewerage and population would be made available on the website.

“We will make Hyderabad an agriculture centre,” Mr Jamil said and added that comprehensive and coordinated development would be carried out in all the sectors.

District Coordination Officer Ali Ahmed, Hyderabad Development Project Director Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah, chairman works and services Munawar Khanzai, union council nazims and officials of the district government attended the briefing.—Bureau
