Confident Farhan eyes Pakistan Open

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: Top ranking national player Farhan Mehboob has now set his sights on the Pakistan Open Squash Championship, scheduled to start from Nov 9 to 14 at the Mushaf Squash Complex.

Farhan earlier bagged the 9th CNS Squash International Championship title after overcoming Aamir Atlas Khan in Karachi.

Talking to Dawn on Friday Farhan, world No.27, said: “After winning the CNS Squash International Championship at Karachi, I have gained a lot of confidence and I will try to win the upcoming Pakistan Open”.

The $40,900 Pakistan Open has attracted players from New Zealand, Hong Kong, Greece, Egypt and Malaysia. Besides the men’s event, women’s event would also be held.

“The Pakistan Open will be another opportunity for me to further improve my world ranking” added Farhan.

Farhan claimed: “If I win the Pakistan Open I will be lined-up among the top 15 world squash players at end of this year”.

Commenting about his future commitments, the Pakistan No.1 said: “After the upcoming championship I will be travelling to play at Hong Kong Squash Open where I am qualifier No.2”.
