LAHORE, Nov 12: The National Accountability Bureau, Punjab, filed on Wednesday a reference in the accountability court against former management of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Lahore, for illegal sale of society land and misappropriating the sale proceeds.

According to the reference, the society was registered in April 1981 and accused Maj Zulfiqar Ali (retired) acted its secretary-general from 1985 to Nov 2006 while other accused Asghar Suleman and Asad Manzoor were the management committee member and legal advisor of society, respectively.

Zulfiqar Ali transferred society’s land measuring 30 kanal and two marla worth Rs6.9 million in Mauza Lidher and Chuhng Khurd without the approval of the registrar cooperatives and the general body.

He also illegally sold five canal and 10 marla land situated in the same area for Rs446,000 to various persons through registered sale deeds.
