Pakistan chess teams lose in Germany

KARACHI, Nov 15: After beating Monaco in the first round, Pakistan men team went 1.5-2.5 down to Faroe Islands in the second round of the 38th Chess Olympiad in Dresden, Germany.

According to the message received here on Saturday, Mohammad Waqar was the only Pakistani who beat R. John while Haseeb Ahmed drew with Andresen.

Pakistan’s Amair Karim and Khalil Butt lost to Olsen and P. Martin, respectively.

Pakistan women team suffered their second defeat, losing 1-3 to Fiji.

Nidal Mishraz beat Ram Rachna while Zenobia Wasif, Kiran and Sabeeka lost their matches.—APP
