KHANEWAL, Nov 16: The engine of the 16-Down Karachi Express derailed at Khanewal Junction at 1.30am on Sunday.

Sources said that after arrival of the Karachi-bound train at Khanewal station at 1.15 am, the engine was moved to the locoshed for a routine checking. On its way back, the engine derailed near the signal cabin of the Khanewal yard.

They said a relief team rushed to the spot and put the engine back on track with the help of a crane. The derailment caused delay in the departure of the train. However, no casualty or injury was reported.
