KHAIRPUR, Nov 17: Thirteen police officials were booked on Sunday by Gullo Siyal police on charges of murdering three students and injuring three others in a raid on Mithal Jagirani village of Gambat taluka.

Zameer Hussain, 13, Allah Dino, 13, and Gul Baig, 12, were killed while Ms Makhan, Saifal and Liaquat were injured when a police party opened fire on them during the raid.

The FIR lodged by Gul Jagirani under section 302, 324, 148, 149 PPC, 7 ATA nominated SHO of Tando Masti Ghulam Abbas Shar, SHO o Keti Kanori Ghulam Mustafa Siyal, In-charge of Special Team Rahib Mallah, head constable Gul Mohammad Mangi, constable Asghar Mamnani and eight unidentified police officials.

No police official nominated in the FIR had been arrested yet.

SSP Investigation Ghulam Akbar Wagan told journalists on Monday that an inquiry into the murder of three boys had been initiated. He said that he had visited the place of incident in Mithal Jagirani village on Sunday evening.

According to villagers, a heavy police contingent from different police stations had raided the village. When angry villagers protested and asked police why they had conducted the raid they opened fire, killing Allah Dino and Zameer on the spot and injuring Gul Baig, Liaquat and Ms Makhan.

Gul Baig later died on his way to hospital, they said.

Police sources said that police they had raided the village after receiving a tip-off that a notorious criminal Nisar Jagirani was present in there. Seeing the police the criminals opened fire and an encounter took place, the sources claimed.
