KARACHI, Nov 17: National master Khalil-ur-Rehman Butt registered an impressive win to help Pakistan men’s team to play 2-2 draw with South Africa in the fourth round of the 38th Chess Olympiad in Dresden, Germany.

According to the message received here on Monday, playing on board three, Khalil defeated Daniel to secure a full point.

On the top board Aamir Karim went down against Solomon while Mohammad Waqar and Haseeb Ahmed played a draw against their respective rivals.

In the third round, Pakistan shared two points each with Paraguay with M. Waqar and Haseeb Ahmed winning their matches.

Pakistan women team lost 1.5 — 2.5 against South Korea in the fourth round.

Earlier, Tunisia blanked Pakistan women team 4-0.—APP
