HYDERABAD, Nov 18: Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit bench here on Tuesday issued notices to DPOs of Badin and Tando Mohammad Khan, SHO Talhar police station Dhani Bux Marri and SHO Tando Ghulam Hyder police station on a constitutional petition, seeking registration of FIR against respondent SHOs and recovery of two PML-backed UC and taluka naib nazims of Tando Ghulam Hyder.

The Additional Advocate-General (AAG) Sindh has also been put on notice for November 24 on the petition, filed by Abdul Latif Jagsi through Mohammad Ali Rind, advocate.

According to petitioner’s case on November 15, he along with his maternal uncles, Ahmed Ali Jagsi, the taluka naib nazim Tando Ghulam Hyder, Shaukat Ali and Mohammad Ayoob Jagsi and his brother-in-law, Babu Irshad Ali Jagsi, the Nazim UC Nazarpur were coming from Tando Mohammad Khan to their village when a police mobile intercepted them.

SHO Talhar police station Dhani Bux Marri and SHO Tando Ghulam Hyder Sarwar Khoso took away Ahmed Ali Jagsi, the taluka naib nazim, his brother Shaukat Ali Jagsi and Babu Irshad Ali Jagsi, the UC Nazim Nazarpur to unknown destination while leaving the petitioner and Ayub Jagsi. The petitioner informed his relatives who approached the police officials but none of them offered any help adding that on November 16 Babu Irshad was released near Mataro bus stand.

He said that the taluka naib nazim and UC nazim belonged to PML and they had been taken away by police at the instance of their political rivals. He apprehended that they might be killed or implicated in false criminal cases. He alleged that respondent SHOs are threatening petitioner and his family members not to make any complaint failing which they would have to face serious consequences.

He said that Babu Irshad had stated that Shaukat Ali Jagsi and Ahmed Ali Jagsi are detained wrongfully by police. He also claimed that the respondents had threatened the detained persons at the instance of political rivals, asking them to change their loyalties or face the music.

He said that premises of sessions court Badin had been cordoned while whereabouts of two detained men remained unknown although they are not required in any case.

He said that respondents are misusing their powers and position by harassing him and his relatives. He prayed the court to direct SHOs of Talhar and Tando Ghulam Hyder police stations and DPOs of Badin and Tando Mohammad Khan districts to show whereabouts of the detrained persons.

He said that registration of FIR should be ordered against respondents and also restrain them from harassing petitioner and his family members.
