ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: Secretary, Establishment Division, Ghiasuddin Ahmed has been transferred with immediate effect.

A press release issued by the media office of the Prime Minister’s House late Thursday night said Ghiasuddin Ahmed’s “new assignment will be made in due course”.

The Prime Minister has appointed Iftikhar Ahmed, Additional Secretary as acting secretary, Establishment Division until further orders, the release said.

Meanwhile the Prime minister has appointed new ambassadors to Turkey, Afghanistan, Japan and Holland. The summary, after the recommendation of the Prime Minister, has been sent to Foreign Office. According to the summery Ambassador to Afghanistan Tariq Azizuddin has been sent to Turkey he would be replaced by Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq, Additional Secretary to Foreign Minister in Foreign Ministry, Noor Muhammad Jadmani has been appointed in Tokyo, while Additional Secretary for South Asia, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has been appointed as Ambassador at Hague in Holland. Foreign Office said that the concerned governments had been informed regarding these appointments while the formal notification would be issued after invitation by the concerned countries.

The ambassadors to Turkey, Lt-Gen (Retd), Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Arif Ayub to Holland and Tariq Azizuddin from Afghanistan would return Pakistan and would take new charges. —Our Reporter
