ISLAMABAD, Nov 30: The city police have registered a rape case against three accused after medico-legal of the victim conducted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on the direction of the Islamabad High Court.
The medico-legal was conducted on Saturday after delay of six days as the hospital administration earlier refused to conduct it.
According to the police, the rape victim was brought to the hospital by her employer on November 23 for the legal process after the complaint was lodged with the Shalimar police.
However, the Pims’ doctors did not oblige, saying she was not accompanied by her parents or guardian. Even on the insistence of the police that under the law the medico-legal could be conducted in their presence, the doctors did not agree to do it.
A senior administration’s officer of the hospital also refused to oblige the police and victim and asked them to approach the court of law for the victim’s examination.
The Islamabad High Court in response to the victim’s application directed the Pims executive director to carry out the examination of the victim.
