HYDERABAD, Dec 1: Hesco chief K.B.Qureshi here on Monday has approved marriage grants of 120 employees, financial assistance to 25 widows and 60 scholarships for the employees’ children.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that this financial assistance has been approved on the recommendations of the relevant committee and it will be distributed from the Wapda employees welfare fund.

He said an amount of Rs20,000 is paid for the marriage of the employee himself or his children, while Rs50,000 scholarship is given to the first position holder of employees’ children, Rs30,000 to the second position holder and Rs25,000 to the third position holder of board’s examination.

He said, Rs870 per month for life is paid to the widow of the martyr, unfit employees or their disabled children.

Deputy manager services, Ali Anwar Jokhio said that during the current financial year, 642 marriage grants, 340 scholarships while 213 cases of widows were approved.—Bureau
