KARACHI: LLM final viva from 13th

KARACHI, Dec 2: The viva voce of the LLM final examinations 2008 will be held from Dec 13 to 24.

The controller of examinations of the Karachi University made this announcement on Tuesday.

The viva would be held at the office of the dean of the faculty of law, Government Islamia Law College, Karachi.

Meanwhile, the deadline for submission of claim forms for BS (honours) admissions 2009 has been extended till Dec 6, according to a Karachi University announcement.

The list of successful candidates will be announced at 10am on Dec 12.

Similarly, dates for fee submission for successful candidates of BS (Hons) have been changed.

Now candidates can submit their fee from Dec 12 to 16 in any of the sixteen designated branches of UBL.

Candidates who will be awarded admissions on the basis of valid claim forms can also submit the fee during the same dates.

Moot on research methodologies

The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) is organising a two-day conference on research methodologies from Wednesday.

The spokesman for the AKU said that the moot was being held in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission Pakistan and the British Council Pakistan Link Award Programme.

The programme would be held at the university’s Karimabad campus.

A welcome address on the opening day would be presented by Dr Mohammad Memon, the director of AKU-IED.

According to the programme, Prof Dylan Wiliam, the deputy director and professor of educational assessment, Institute of Education, University of London, UK, and Dr Elnasir Lalani, the dean research, Aga Khan University, will deliver talks.

Closing remarks on the opening day would be made by Dr Sadruddin Pardhan of AKU-IED.

SSUET exam dates

The ongoing examinations at the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) will resume on Dec 3 as per schedule, the registrar of the university announced on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the controller of examinations of the university announced that the postponed papers of Dec 2 and 3 would now be held on Dec 5 and 6, respectively.

Book launch

Professor Hashmatullah Lodhi’s new book will be launched here at the Arts Council on Thursday.

Prominent scholar Prof (Dr) Farman Fatehpuri will preside over the ceremony while Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri will be the chief guest.

Syed Safwanullah, Prof Sahar Ansari, Prof Asmat Zohra, Anwar Ahmed Khan and Sohail Ahmed will also express their views on this occasion.
