BADIN, Dec 12: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has said that non-cooperation by those coalition partners, who claiming 100 per cent control over Karachi affairs, is the main reason behind the recent city riots.

Talking to journalists here on Friday, he said peace and calm prevailed across Sindh during Eid days, adding that the government will not budge an inch from its present crusade against terrorism.

Mr Mirza said that the government action against Jamatud Dawa was not taken in haste and in reaction to Mumbai carnage nor was it taken under any pressure but the crackdown on the organisation was launched after going through its activities.

He said that such actions could ultimately be taken against any organisation by the government after obtaining solid evidence to banish terrorism.

Answering a question, the home minister claimed a fall in the crime graph in Sindh and also noticed a decrease in cases of kidnapping for ransom. He said that more than a dozen kidnapped people, including two of Karachi were recovered from the criminals while efforts were being made for the release of others.

However, he admitted that several kidnapped persons had been taken to other province.

He hoped that EDO health, Tando Allahyar, Jalil Bachani, would soon be released as some clues had been found and criminals were identified.

He said the government was striving hard from the very first day to root out threat of terrorism and had taken preventive measures to protect and safeguard the lives of people.

The minister held open katchehries at Pangrio and Mirza Farm where hundreds of people from all walks of life, including women folk explained their problems. He heard them and passed on the spot orders.

The minister ordered transfer of SHO Golarchi and suspension of two constables on public complaint.
