Nato fuel supply attacked

Published December 17, 2008

QUETTA, Dec 16: Suspected militants fired on an oil tanker carrying fuel for Nato forces in Afghanistan in the Methri area of Sibi district on Tuesday night. The driver was injured.

This is for the first time that Nato supplies have come under attack in an area where Taliban have no hold. Police said that after the attack, which took place on the National Highway linking Quetta with Jacobabad, security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation. No one has yet accepted responsibility for the attack.
