Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 20: Three ships carrying containers, chemicals and iron ore were accommodated berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Iron ore and Coal Berth respectively during the last 24 hours.

Two more ships with furnace oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total of seven ships, Maersk Novazzano, Orien-II, Gemini, Coral, Sun Benjamin, Eastern Tera and DS Commander are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, palm oil, chemicals and iron ore respectively during the report period.

A cargo volume of 31,535 tons, comprising 20,805 tons of import cargo and 10,730 tons of export cargo, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,526 containers (TEUs), was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.
