HYDERABAD, Dec 23: People from Jamshoro staged a protest demonstration on Tuesday outside the press club against Gambat police for registering a false case of encounter against two brothers.

Police registered a false encounter case against Munawar Narejo and Kashif Narejo, sons of Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Additional Controller at the Sindh University. Members of Narejo community also participated in the protest.

Qurban Narejo, Mumtaz Narejo, Zaheer Kandhro and others said that the Gambat police had registered a false case against Narejo brothers and 18 others at the instance of an influential person.

They demanded of the Sindh chief minister and home minister to order an impartial inquiry in the matter and withdraw false case against innocent people.

STP: The Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party activists continued token hunger on Tuesday, fourth consecutive day outside the press club.

They were protesting against the arrest and imprisonment of a central leader Dr Ahmed Noonari, his brother Basheer Noonari and 26 others.

Talking to reporters, Women Wing leaders Ms Sehr Rizvi and Ms Hakimzadi Thebo said that the party would not call off protests unless arrested leaders were released.

INTERVIEWS: Director, Centre for Environmental Sciences, University of Sindh on Tuesday notified that interviews of candidates qualifying M.Phil in Environmental Sciences test would be conducted on Dec 30-31 at 10am at the office of Director.

Meanwhile, Director Sports Boys, University of Sindh announced that interviews of candidates who applied for admission to different disciplines on Sports Quota will be conducted on Dec 24 at 1:30pm.
