Petrol, diesel shortage

Published December 27, 2008

LAHORE, Dec 26: People are facing problems because the city is in short supply of petrol and diesel.

On Friday, vehicle owners were looking for petrol and diesel because a number of pumps had no fuel to sell and displayed ‘out of stock’ boards.

The supply of petrol and diesel has been affected because pump owners expect a decrease in prices from Jan 1 and are delaying fresh purchases for fear of losses.

They, however, accuse petroleum companies of delaying the supplies or supplying them fuel less than their needs.

Shortage of petrol and diesel is resulting in increased rush at the pumps having fuel stocks. Motorists are being forced to buy adulterated and substandard fuel from unauthorised stockists. Owners of pumps are selling mobil oil at higher rates.
