HYDERABAD, Dec 28: Hyderabad District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil inaugurated a 50-bed general hospital on Hali Road built at a cost of Rs50 million.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Haq Parast leadership was trying to provide basic amenities to the people without any discrimination.

He said that the district government had laid the foundation of six new hospitals in the district, including a trauma centre, and expanded the existing hospitals for the benefit of the middle class and the poor.

The nazim pointed out that in the absence of a hospital in the backward locality of Hali Road, the poor people had to go to civil hospital or Bhittai hospital for medical treatment and had to incur heavy expenses.

With the establishment of the Hali Road general hospital, he said, the poor people of union councils 12, 13, 14 of Latifabad taluka, Hali Road, American Quarters, Gulshan-i-Hali, Site Area, Badin bus stop and other adjacent localities would be provided with free medical treatment at their doorsteps.

He said that the hospital had been equipped with the latest medical equipments including baby incubator, micro laboratory and X-ray, ultrasound and haematological analyser machines etc. He said that free dialysis facilities had also been made available to the poor at Bhittai Hospital as the cost of one dialysis had been fixed at Rs3,000, which was beyond the reach of a common man.

Similarly, an eye hospital had also been established at Tara Chand Hospital where eye surgeries were being conducted, the district nazim said.
