PM allocates Rs223m for Dadu bypass

DADU, Dec 28: Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq has said that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has allocated Rs223 million for construction of Dadu bypass.

Speaking at a meeting held here on Sunday to pay tribute to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, he said that out of 7,000 closed primary schools 2,000 had been reopened while efforts were afoot to reopen others.

He said that a formula to upgrade the teachers was being worked out and they would be promoted with one higher scale. He said that PML-Q government had issued fake offer orders to thousands of jobless youth in education department, while billions of rupees budget of education department was embezzled by officials and PML-Q leaders.

He said that PPP government was improving the education system and trying to eliminate problems in the education department which were created by PML-Q government.

He disclosed that the government was looking into the corruption committed by the district nazims.

State minister for food and agriculture, Rafique Ahmed Jamali said the government would carry forward the policy of Benazir Bhutto.

MPA Kulsoom Chandio, MPA Rashida Panhwar and Dost Ali Jessar also spoke on the occasion.
