ATTOCK, Dec 29: District police have recommended the provincial Home Department to ban entry of 58 ulema of both Sunni and Shia sects into Attock and speeches of other 37 ulemas and zakirs of the district to ensure peace and maintain law and order situation during the sensitive month of Muharram, it has been learnt.
The 25 Sunni Ulemas whose entry into the district has been banned are Maulana Abu Bakar Chishti, Maulana Abdul Qadeer, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Saddique, Maulana Muhammad Ishaq, Maulana Qari Naveed Masood Hashmi, Maulana Muhammad Tayyub, Maulana Syed Al Hajj Chirghuddin, Maulana Masood-ur-Rehman, Maulana Muhammad Hanif, Maulvi Baz Khan, Maulvi Habib Bakash and Maulvi Mohiud-Din Kazmi, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab and Maulana Ziaul Haq, Maulana Abdul Hayee Abid and Maulana Ajmal, Maulana Syed Shabbir Hussain Shah, Maulana Muhammad Rafique, Shabzada Syed Irfan Shah, Maulana Allah Wasaya, Maulana Abdil Satter Tanusi, Maulana Ghulam Yahya Abbasi and Maulana Bashir Ahmed Shah and Maulana Ahmed Saeed Multani, the sources said.
The 33 religious leaders of Shia sect are Maulana Sajid Ali Naqvi, Zakir Syed Sajid Hussain Shah and Zakir Ghulam Qamer, Maulana Zahidul Hassan Zaidi, Maulana Tajuddin Haidri, Maulana Zahidul Hassan Rashid, Zakir Ghulam Asgher and Maulana Abid Raza, Zakir Muzamal Hussain Shah, Zakir Riaz Hussian Shah, Zakir Akhter Abbas, Zakir Syed Abid Hussain, Zakir Nazar Hussian, Maulana Mansoor Hussain Naqvi, Zakir Ghulam Miskeen and Zakir Allama Muhammad Hussian Lakhnavi, Zakir Murid Hussain, Zakir Ghulam Hussain and Allama Zakir Malik Ejaz, Maulana Syed Zameer and Maulana Haider Khan, Allama Fazal Hussain Alvi , Maulana Zameerul Hassan Najfi, Maulana Ghulam Raza Jhandvi, Maulana Asad Raza Bukhari, Maulana Syed Muhammad Taqi, Maulana Syed Nazim Raza and Zakir Shauket Raza Shaukat, Zakir Ilyas Raza Najfi, Zakir Syed khadim Hussain, Zakir Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Maulana Yaqoob Ali, Maulana Nazir Husain Solangi, Zameerul Hasan Najfi and Maulana Ghulam Raza Jhandvi, Maulana Asad Raza Bukhari, Maulana Syed Muhammad Taqi, Maulana Syed Nazim Raza and Zakir Shauket Raza Shaukat, Zakir Ilyas Raza Najfi, Zakir Syed khadim Hussain, Zakir Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Maulana Yaqoob Ali and Maulana Nazir Husain Solangi, the sources maintained.
While While, 26 “Sunnis” and 11 “Shias” total 37 Ulemas/ Zakirs of Attock district were also recommended for gagging orders. While the 26 Suuni Ulemas, whose speeches have been banned, are Maulana Muhammad Abdullah, Iftikhar Ahmed Farooqi, Maulana Abdul Aziz, Maulvi Muhammad Akram, Maulana Nawabul Hassan, Qari Mehboobur Rehman and Muhammad Khan, Maulana Abdul Wahid, Ameer Ali Shah, Maulana Ghulam Jilani, Maulnana Abdul Rahim, Maulana Abdul Khaliq, Maulana Hussian Ahmed, Maulana Tabbasum and Qari Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Umar, Syed Iftikhar Hussain, Ali Asghar, Qari Hafizur Rehman, Maulana Anwer Shakir, Raees Ahmed , Haq Nawaz, Maulvi Shamsuddin, Maulana Chan Muhammad, Maulana Qari Saeedur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Salam.
And the 11 Shai Zakirs whose speeches have been banned are Syed Haider Raza, Syed Amjad Ali Shah, Sarder Ahmed Khan, Bashir Ahmed, Muhammad Aslam, Jehan Khan, Farzand Hussain Shah, Hassan Abbas Shah, Amjad Hussain Naqvi, Amir Hussain Shah and Jabbar Hussain.
Meanwhile district Nazim Tahir Sadik Khan here on Monday appealed to the ulema and religious scholars of all sects to work together to maintain religious harmony during Muharram.
Speaking at a meeting of the district ulema board and peace committee, he said the religious leaders should play their role in maintaining peace and tolerance during the sensitive month.
The nazim urged the ulema to follow the teachings of Islam and propagate peace and harmony.
