LAHORE, Dec 30: Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Qazi Husain Ahmad has called upon the governments of Iran and Pakistan to protest against US plans to build its cantonments in Afghanistan.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said the US was making preparations for construction of a number of cantonments for a prolonged stay in Afghanistan and had already sanctioned Rs40 billion for the construction of first cantonment at Kandhar. Construction of three other cantonments had also been approved, according to foreign media reports.

The traders raised slogans and displayed placards on which they had written slogans condemning Israeli aggression and the US for backing Israel.

Naqi Market Anjuman Tajran President Farooq Azad said governments of all the countries should condemn Israeli aggression.
