NAWABSHAH: Pen-down strike

NAWABSHAH, Dec 31: The Nawabshah chapter of the All-Pakistan Clerks Association observed pen-down strike and held a demonstration outside the office of Population Welfare Department on Wednesday in protest against non-release of salary.

The protesters led by Luqman Bughio, Zahid Hussain Rajpar and others said that the employees had not received salary for past six months. They demanded regularisation of employees working on contract basis since 1998 and cancellation of deputation.

MUHARRAM: The zonal organiser of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Anwar Saleem said on Wednesday that his party would play its role in maintaining peace and harmony during Muharram.

He was speaking at a joint meeting of party workers and elected representatives at the zonal office.
