KARACHI, Dec 31: Qualifier Farhan Zaman of Navy continued his winning sequence when he breezed past fourth seed Aurangzaib Mahmond of Punjab in four sets to advance into last four of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Open squash championship at the Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday.

Fresh from his triumph over seventh seed Nousherwan in the first round on Tuesday, Farhan struggled to prevail over his opponent 5-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-8 in the longest battle of the day which lasted 36 minutes.

Joining him in the semis were the top three seeds — Kashif Khan, Sheikh Saquib and Hamza Bokhari.

Top seed and Sindh No 1 Kashif took 22 minutes to get the better of Jahanzaib Masood 11-6, 11-7, 11-6; second seed Saquib from Punjab chalked up a 12-10, 11-7, 12-10 victory over Navy’s Naeem while third seed Hamza Bokhari, also from Punjab, registered 11-5, 14-10, 11-8 victory over Jahangir Khan Jr.

Kashif is slated to face Hamza while Farhan takes on Saquib in the two semi-finals on Thursday.
