HYDERABAD, Feb 2: The Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party has condemned proposed demolition of eight villages in Karachi for which a notification has been issued by the Karachi City District Government.
STP spokesman Nandlal Malhi said in a statement that the demolition of the villages was a conspiracy aimed at expelling Sindhi speaking people from Karachi.
From day one, the Karachi city government and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement had been hatching conspiracies against the Sindhi people, Mr Malhi alleged and said that Karachi was not only the capital of Sindh but it was the heart of Sindhis. He alleged that hundreds of Sindhi speaking people were killed in Karachi in target killings in 1988, Sindhi language was abolished in the educational institutions and the admission of Sindhi students to educational institutes of the city had been practically banned.
On the other hand, he said, Bengalis, Biharis and other outsiders were issued NICs and added that all these facts proved that the MQM was not prepared to tolerate Sindhi speaking people in Karachi.
