LAHORE, Jan 4: Hundreds of Imamia Students Organization (ISO) activists on Sunday took out a protest rally against Israeli attacks on Gaza, APP reports.

ISO central president Hassan Zaidi led the rally which started from outside of Lahore Press Club and terminated in front of the Punjab Assembly building on The Mall.

The demonstrators including women and children were carrying banners and placards with anti-Israel slogans.

Allama Jawad Naqvi and Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi condemned the recent Israeli invasion. "We are here today to express our solidarity with the people in Gaza and tell the Palestinians that we are with you," said a speaker on the occasion.

Our Staff Reporter adds: Dozens of activists belonging to Left-wing parties also staged a demonstration on The Mall to protest the Israeli invasion.

The participants, who assembled at a short notice, marched from Regal Chowk to Faisal Chowk under the banners of Anti-War Committee Pakistan.

The rally was attended by several leftist groups, including National Workers Party, Labour Party, PDF, NSF, Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party and some others.

A good numbers of Punjab University students also participated in the rally which threw traffic out of gear on The Mall and Queen’s Road for quite some time.

The protesters, holding red flags, raised slogans condemning the Zionist state’s aggression and demanded an immediate end to the air and ground assaults on Palestinian territory.

Furrukh Suhail Goindi, Umer Choudry, Noman and Farooq Tariq spoke to the demonstrators as the committee was planning more such rallies in next few days.
