HYDERABAD, Jan 6: Around 777 development schemes recommended by the MNAs and MPAs have been approved with Jan 15 fixed as the last date for the finalsation of PC-I and other formalities.
The Hyderabad People’s Development Committee gave approval of it during a meeting with instructions to executing agencies to complete documentation for presenting these before the Planning and Development Department.
Chairman of the Committee MPA Pir Amjad Hussain Shah Jilani informed the participants that the provincial government had earmarked Rs2 billion for special development package which were in addition to schemes included in the Annual Development Programme, Public Representatives Development Fund and other uplift schemes.
He said that under it each MNA and MPA of the district would be allowed to recommend schemes up to Rs220.22 million to be executed during next fiscal i.e., 2009-10.
The purpose of the package was to take all representatives on board for coming to the expectations of the common man he said adding that the committee until now had received some 777 proposals which were duly approved.
He said that the PC-I of many schemes had been prepared with the remaining forwarded to concerned agencies for completion by the 15th of this month.
He said that those MNAs and MPAs who were members of the Committee can re-check or revise their submitted development schemes and re-submit the same by Jan 10 to help prepare the PC-I of such new schemes by the fixed date.
He directed the executing agencies to scrutinise all recommended schemes without overlapping and contradiction with other development programmes. He also directed them to complete PC-I of all schemes and complete documentation so that these could be submitted before the Planning and Development Department.
Provincial Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgari, some MNAs and government officers attended the meeting.
