RAWALPINDI, Jan 14: The first-ever engineering sector delegation’s visit to Kuwait has opened up many business opportunities in mega development projects coming up in oil and gas, energy and infrastructure sectors in that country.

The 10-member delegation has just returned home after a four-day visit to Kuwait during which it received encouraging response from ministries and private companies.

The strong business partnerships were likely to be converted into exports within next three to six months, a press release of Engineering Development Board (EDB) said on Wednesday.

The EDB organised the visit of the delegation, which was led by Chairman State Engineering Corporation, Major-General (retd) Zaheer Ahmad Khan. It included prominent engineering companies from both public and private sector.

Most of these companies are now in the process of signing agreements with Kuwaiti partners to undertake engineering projects.

Pakistani companies are expecting good number of business enquiries during this month. The engineering goods and services that are in demand and Pakistani companies can offer to Kuwaiti market are pipes (seamless and ductile iron), valves, electrical cables, power and distribution transformers, high-voltage transmission towers, telecommunication towers, pumps and maintenance of sub-stations etc.
