QUETTA, Jan 14: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, has proposed that an all-party conference be convened before the March 9 long march planned by lawyers.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said the APC would provide an opportunity to forge consensus on the issues of restoration of the judiciary, repeal of the 17th Amendment, abolition of the National Security Council and supremacy of parliament.

Mr Achakzai, who is convenor of the All Parties Democratic Movement, said the political leadership should act wisely to steer the nation out of the current crisis, adding that the politics of confrontation would worsen the situation.
