LAHORE, Jan 16: Sargodha clinched the Lahore Centre Phase of PFF U-13 Youth Cup when they imposed a 4-1 win over Sialkot Blue here at the Railway Stadium on Friday.

Haider Ali-led Sargodha opened the proceedings in a whirlwind fashion when winger Asim Abbas saw his rasping drive turned over the line by double-minded goalkeeper Siddiqui in the 43rd second.

Faisal Mohammad scored the equaliser in the 12th minute. The winners regained the lead in the 22nd minute when Haider cut in from the left and drove the ball low past the keeper’s outstretched hands.

Sargodha were leading 2-1 at interval.

The second session belonged to Ahmed Saleem who steered the ball into the net in the 32nd and 50th minutes with spectacular finishes.

By virtue of becoming the top outfit of Lahore Centre, Sargodha have qualified for the National U-13 Festival of Football, scheduled to be held at the Model Town Football Academy here from Jan 28 to Feb 8.

The winners received cash prize of Rs15,000. —Agencies
