FAISALABAD, Jan 17: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf chairman has said time is ripe for a change in the country as the government has failed to extend relief to masses.

At a public gathering at the Clock Tower intersection, Imran Khan said the current situation indicated that it was a Pakistan of Asif Ali Zardari instead of the Quaid-i-Azam. He said moneyed were not paying taxes while poor were being forced to pay these.

Khan visited various localities of the district in connection with the PTI membership drive. The party has set up camps in Chak 77 Lohke, Allama Iqbal Town, D Ground, Jaranwala Road, Samanabad and Madina Town. The membership drive will end on Feb 2.

He urged youngsters to join PTI for changing the fate of the country. He said the PTI would introduce uniform curriculum in the country and struggle for the independence of judiciary and rule of law. Earlier, PTI workers gave a warm welcome to Mr Khan at the Khurrianwala toll plaza and brought him to Clock Tower in a caravan.—Staff Correspondent
