Three ‘terrorists’ held in Lahore

LAHORE, Jan 17: Three people were arrested at the Burki area on Saturday for their suspected involvement in some bomb blasts and links to the intelligence agency of a neighbouring country.

Initial inquiries showed that the suspects, detained after a tip-off, used to cross the border frequently to seek instructions, a police official told Dawn.

The suspects told investigators that they had taken photographs of the Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters and some mosques and handed them over to the intelligence agency of the neighbouring country, the official said.

The suspects’ involvement in bomb blasts at the Liberty Market and on Ferozpur Road, near the head offices of Rescue 1122, could not be ruled out, he said.

The suspects were being interrogated by the Crimes Investigation Agency, said the official.
